Black Artistry Radio highlights the Black composer, arranger, musician, lyricist, band and ensemble.  We make their recorded works available to the listener via this music streaming website in compliance with U.S. copyright laws.

Black Artistry Radio realizes that there exists a huge body of recorded material by Black composers and musicians that span decades that is often neglected by mainstream media outlets including African-American-operated radio stations.

Black Artistry Radio ignores market-based demographic trends imposed on consumers, particularly African-American consumers, and caters to the listener who desires to hear Black creativity, genius and culture.

Black Artistry Radio does not hesitate to incorporate within its playlists recorded material that may be out of print, very old going back to the 1920s or 30s and may not have been promoted adequately at the time it was released.  We play it all.  If its good creative, innovative, interesting, enjoyable music, we play it.

Also, an abundance of music that would today be considered "socially conscious" and "protest music" was composed and recorded by Black composers and musicians beginning from the early years of the Civil Rights Movement to the Black Power Movement and beyond.  Many of these musical works are often neglected and forgotten for a variety of reasons.  Black Artistry Radio incorporates this music in its playlists.
